OUR APPROACH

Go Tennis has been running for over 15 years and in that time has taught thousands

of adults and children across Surrey and Hampshire.

Set up by Head Coach - Jasper Allen, the team have taught many players how to improve their game and to enjoy a sport which is loved by millions.

Now offering Pickleball and Padel coaching to our players, whatever your level, good, bad or brilliant, we can teach you something new & provide a real sense of achievement – with us, everyone’s a winner!

Our ethos is that an individual is more likely to improve their own competence if they are coached in a fun, safe environment.

Teaching techniques should be adapted to make it easy to learn. No one thrives or improves if they feel they 'can't do it'. You never stop learning on how to play and we never stop being inspired on how to coach.

Tennis, pickeball and padel are truly amazing sports that can and should be enjoyed by everyone.

A word from Jasper:

“This is me, Jasper Allen. I am an LTA Performance Coach, IPTPA Pickleball Instructor and a Level 2 LTA Padel Instructor. I have always played tennis. When I say always, it was from age 6 at Haslemere Tennis Club when I first picked up a tennis racket. Since then I have taught thousands of people of all ages (2 years up to 92 years).

I have a passion for sport, especially Tennis and since 2021, pickleball and padel!

Pickleball and padel are the fastest growing sports globally and there are several reasons why. They offer an accessible, affordable game which is like a condensed version of doubles in tennis. All the best bits of tennis and you very quickly get lots of exciting rallies whether at beginner or advanced level.

My experience of tennis coaching over many years is that tennis players experience greater levels of fitness, typically burning 600 calories in a 90-minute session!

Not only does playing pickleball and padel help tackle the obesity crisis in the country, but it is also so much fun!

Where there are games going on there is always laughter and smiling!

The current awareness of mental health challenges has made people more

conscious of the benefit of sport, especially a social game such as padel.

So, whether you want to learn a new sport, make friends, get fit, to compete or to

excel, our mission is to make your experience of playing enjoyable, rewarding and help

you to develop a life-long love of the game.

Our coaches make sure you or your kids get the most out of every second on the court. Our aim is to make you smile, make you feel welcome, make sure you know how to develop and keep you coming back for more.

Our approach to coaching is what enables our clients to fall in love with tennis, pickleball or padel and continue to develop year on year. So, if you have a desire to progress and improve, we have a course that is right for you.

OUR COACHES

Jasper Allen

Director of Tennis

LTA Performance Coach

Hi! I am Jasper, I have been coaching for over 20 years and am a huge tennis fan! If I am not coaching tennis, I am probably playing tennis or watching tennis (or running around after my children).

I specialise in junior development coaching by making the learning experience fun and challenging. I like people learning through their experiences and their awareness rather than being coached in military command style coaching.

I have trained in developing self confidence in children through the 'inner game' courses. My other passion is adult coaching ranging from Cardio Tennis to individual coaching using video analysis.

I coach at Grayshott Tennis Club where I am based and at other tennis clubs. I also can coach at home tennis courts.

FAQ’s

What is Pickleball?

Pickleball is a fun sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, over a net. It couldn’t be easier to have a go at Pickleball and discover for yourself just how much fun it is!No special equipment is required and any comfortable clothing is fine. Trainers / tennis shoes are recommended.

What is Padel?

Padel is a sport which combines action with fun and social interaction. It’s a great sport for players of all ages and skills, as it is both quick and easy to pick up. Most players get the basics within the first half an hour of playing so that they can enjoy the game.

Padel is not as dominated by strength, technique and serve as it happens in Tennis and therefore is an ideal game for men, women and youth to compete together. An important skill is match-craft, as points are won rather by strategy than by sheer strength and power.

What happens if I’m booked on to a class, but the weather is bad?

We only stop our classes if the weather is making it dangerous to play e.g., ice, snow, extreme winds, or heavy and persistent rain. Your coach will contact you before the class is due to take place via email, text, or WhatsApp in this situation.

If GO Tennis cancels a class due to weather or coach illness an extra session will be made up at the end of the beginning of the next term. However, if you choose not to join due to the weather and your class is still on, we cannot refund you the session.

When do you take bookings for your new courses?

We generally open our new class bookings in the last week of the current term. We will let people know via email, social media and our website when the bookings are open.

How many people do you coach in one class?

This is dependent upon the age groups however the ratios are a maximum of 6-8 per coach.

What do I do if me or my child can’t make a session?

Just let us know – where possible we will try and move you to an alternative session. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund any missed classes.

Can I drop my child off or do I need to stay?

Your child can be dropped off and left however we advise you do this at your own discretion. If your child needs additional support for example, is not comfortable using the toilet by themselves, we suggest that you stay for their class.

What qualifications do your coaches have?

All our coaches as fully DBS checked and have safeguarding training where applicable. Our coaches have LTA Accreditation as well as basic first aid. Jasper Allen, our head coach, is also an IPTPA qualified Pickleball instructor.

Do I need to be a member of a club to have coaching?

No but you might benefit from additional opportunities to play so recommend you join one of our local clubs.
